As I sit here and write this blog post my mom is currently making tamales and I honestly couldn’t be happier. The holidays season is my favorite time of the year, mostly because it’s filled with beautiful traditions and allows family to come together. This time of the year should be about family and love, but it tends to be overpowered by the material aspect and gifts that everyone expects. This year my family and I are taking a trip to Mexico for Christmas and New Years. I am beyond excited for this mini vacation. Its been years since we have been in Mexico for the holidays. Its really important to never forget what the holidays are about. Unfortunately, this year I was unable to buy my family gifts because I am currently a full time student and am unemployed. There fore I have come up with some stuff that I think would be fun to do with them instead. We aren’t all fortunate enough to buy gifts for everyone so I just wanted to share some other ways to spread your holiday cheer in a special way with your loved ones.

Go watch a Christmas play

Build gingerbread houses

DIY stockings

DIY ornaments

Go on Christmas light tour

Make a wreath

Bake/cook your favorite recipes together

Have a Christmas movie marathon

Have a secret Santa (that way everyone gets a gift & you don’t break the bank.)

Go ice skating

Start a new Christmas tradition.

Take cute family holiday pictures

Make a holiday scrapbook

Drink Hot Chocolate

Here are just some things considering Christmas is very close by this time I’d hope that Christmas tree is up and the lights are hung up outside of the house. Drink as much hot chocolate as possible and binge watch christmas movies. And I will be posting about my trip and mostly about all the yummy food I will be eating. Can’t wait for some yummy atole and pan dulce.

I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas!
